In the Little Belt Mountains, 13 miles west of Judith Gap, Montana, and 23 miles North of Harlowton. Harlowton has a population of 1,000 and approximately a 21 bed hospital and an adjacent 33 bed nursing home. Plus, all of the other amenities of a country town–churches, schools, doctors, lawyers, supermarkets, hardware stores, drug stores, etc. The property lies all in Wheatland County and Harlowton is the County Seat of Wheatland County. | HUNTING AREA |

Deer, elk, mountain lion and bear frequent the area, as well as grouse & wild turkey. The land is in Region #5, District 540. In the 2000 hunting season, this district was open October 22-November 26 for antlered bull elk, and October 16- November 26 for antlerless elk, with 175 permits available. (These permits must be applied for by June 1 drawing) October 22- November 26 was either sex mule deer or whitetail valid within the National Forest Boundary. No "B" tags were available. Bear season runs from April 15-June 15, with no quota on permits. Four mountain lion permits were given for December 1-February 15. Archery season was open from September 2-October 15 for deer and elk. |
